Software Consultant - HR/Payroll - SunGard (Chico, CA)

Position Responsibilities Join our team of Software Consultant/Product Instructors.
Travel the United States consulting with our clients on best practices for the use of our administrative software.
Work with Cities, Counties and Non-Profit Agencies to facilitate the optimal implementation of SunGard ERP software.
Put your presentation skills, strong technical skills, and prior work experience in these fields to use.
Software Consultants travel extensively (up to 80-100% travel M-F).
Work in a team environment with project managers and other staff to bring our customers live on our ERP system.
Ensure the implementation of SunGard Public Sector Software incorporates best practices (both SunGard and industry), supports critical functions of local government bodies, and enables the capture of relevant information to be used for decision -making purposes.
Assist with client testing efforts and troubleshooting of issues as they are discovered.
Participate internally on implementation improvement activities.
Follow up phone calls/visits as needed with customers.
Participate in the design of professional development offerings Position Requirements Required Skills/Knowledge/
Experience:
Bachelors Degree in Business, Accounting, MIS or a related degree or equivalent is required.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in technical training, product support and/or software consulting / product instruction.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, create presentations, and deliver training.
Able to travel extensively - up to 100% of the time.
Must exhibit ability to learn new concepts quickly and apply them in a customer environment.
Knowledge of government work environment and business processes is a plus.
Strong analytical skills and exhibit good judgment in addressing sensitive or complex situations.
Must be a quick thinker in group situations.
Presentation skills, strong technical skills, and prior work experience with heavy customer interaction.
Knowledge of industry specific business processes a big plus.
Analytical, excellent communication and organizational skills a must.
Ability to learn comprehensive computer software systems and apply knowledge to train/support clients in report writing, workflow and web forms.
Software systems include:
land-based computer software with geospatial data permitting, licensing, planning & zoning software comprehensive core financial and general ledger software.
comprehensive human resource and payroll software.
Must be able to teach and be a leader.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
