Under the direct supervision of the Payroll Supervisor, the Payroll Administrator is responsible for performing day to day payroll functions in support of the Agency's payroll processes and cycles.
RESPONSIBILITIES Assists the Payroll Supervisor and other Agency personnel in collecting and processing payroll and payroll related information.
Supports the Programs with the timekeeping process; processes and audits timecards for the Agency.
Posts and processes manual paychecks.
Enters payroll information into company financial and payroll systems.
Prepares and distributes payroll checks and other payroll related documentation for the Agency.
Prepares payroll tax liability spreadsheet.
Tracks and reports Teacher sick days.
Audits employee payroll related change forms and notifies appropriate personnel of necessary changes.
Maintains original employee timecards :
both electronic imaging and hard copy documents.
Processes direct deposit payroll activity.
Acts as a back:
up to Payroll Supervisor and other Payroll Staff; completes other tasks as assigned.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS Must have minimum of two years of payroll experience and must possess a strong working knowledge of payroll concepts and completion of at least six college:
level units of accounting/bookkeeping.
One year of additional experience may be substituted for education requirements.
Must have a general understanding of general labor laws and of accounting/bookkeeping concepts.
Must have experience with computerized payroll systems and possess intermediate knowledge of MS Excel.
Must possess strong people skills and the ability to work well within a team.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
