Database Administrator, Cloud - SunGard (Chico, CA)
Position Responsibilities The position will also be responsible for applying the database portion of the SunGard Public Sector Application hot fixes and services packs on an as-needed basis, as well as handling technical escalations from 2nd level technical support personnel.
This will require after-normal-business hours support and possible weekend work, as may require being part of the technical 24/7 on-call rotation.

Experience Requirements Experience in the design and implementation of database architectures for enterprise applications.
Experience with developing and implementing database structures in a hosted or cloud environment.
Extensive experience with installation and administration of MS SQL Server, Oracle database Server.
DB2 and Informix experience is not required but is desirable.
Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database problems.
Experience in Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
Experience with backups, restores and recovery models.
Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for MS SQL Server and Oracle.
Experience in implementing operational automation using scripts.
Knowledge of indexes, index management, and statistics.
Experience working with Windows server, including Active Directory and proper disk configurations.
Experience working in a VMware production environment.
Good communication and documentation skills.
Educational Requirements Certification is a plus; Microsoft - MCTS, MCITP; Oracle - OCA, OCP, OCM Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields or equivalent work experience required.
